Michael Freeman says ...
I'm sure I read somewhere that people thought the logo was 'too' modern, and made us look like a 'new' university. Well... 1. I'm sure we aren't judged solely on our logo, I think our reputation and history might have a little to do with it as well. 2. Doesn't a modern logo say that even though we are one of the 'old' universities, we are on the cutting edge of research and are up to date with recent advancements. 3. Didn't we just get voted into the top 80 universities in the world? so, why change it? (Message edited by maf2v07 on Sunday 18th 2007f November 2007 06:37:44 PM)

That's the power of Union democracy for you. Still Union Council's at 17:00, so I guess it's not too late.

If you want the Union to do something about this then I suggest that you contact Sarah Moore, the president, on pres@susu.org or Claire Chappelle, VP Education and Representation, on vped@susu.org . Alternatively you could write directly to Union Council by contacting the Chairperson Hazel Learner on chair@susu.org. We can then discuss the matter and come to a conclusion one way or another. Following this, if we feel strongly enough we can give a mandate to the Student Reps on University Senate to make an issue of it at the Senate meetings. So Union Democarcy does work, but people need to tell their representatives what they want doing in order for us to be able to help you.
